Jomsom Muktinath Ghorepani Trekking is synonymous with Muktinath Trekking and Jomsom Trekking. This trekking begins after a short mountain flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. Jomsom is the gateway of Upper Mustang, the forbidden area for foreigners till 1992. As soon as you reach Jomsom you start trekking to Muktinath with one overnight at Kagbeni, the beautiful small village on route. On the trail of Muktinath trekking, you also visit other fascinating villages.
Jomsom Muktinath Ghorepani trekking it is the lower part of Mustang , the sowing village called Jharkot popular and oldest village in Mustang. There are traditional Buddhist monasteries as well as local houses. Jomsom Muktinath Ghorepani trekking highest altitude of this trekking is 3800m. That is at Muktinath temple, the sacred holy site for both Hindus as well as Buddhists.
The Muktinath picturesque place where can enjoy Mt.Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountain views. It is good to visit Muktinath temple in the morning. The is the holy temple for Hindus and Buddhist. While you may see many Indian and Nepali pilgrims are taking the cold shower around the temple. The Next place you visit is Jharkot impressive old ruined village. Jomsom Muktinath Ghorepani- Poonhill trekking another attraction is the where you can view spectacular panoramic view of Annapurna mountains. Then you back to Ghorepani via Kalopani, Tatopani and Chitre and end treks at Hille. In Muktinath trekking trail you can experience spectacular views of Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Annapurna I and ll, Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Dhaulagiri Ranges, rice paddy, amazing landscape etc. The Sunrise view from Poon hill is another exciting event of this trip. Jomsom Muktinath trekking is a little longer. It takes about 10-12 days to complete this trek. You can shorten it by taking a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom.
Then you can complete it in 7/8 days it depend on your time . One way fly to Jomsom and trek back to Pokhara via Ghorepani . Jomsom, Kagbeni, and Muktinath that this trail covers are one of the exotic places in Annapurna region. You will have close views of mountains including Annapurna and the deepest gorge, Kali Gandaki. This is one of the best short treks in Nepal.
In Muktinath, there is a small temple of Lord Bishnu- Muktinath. Muktinath spells “Lord of Salvation” in English and is one of the pilgrimage sites for both Hindus and Buddhists. This is a place to attain salvation if you would like.
