Location: Eastern Nepal, in the Sagarmatha National Park, leading to the base camp of Mount Everest.

Duration: Typically takes around 12-14 days, depending on the specific itinerary and acclimatization needs.

Altitude: The trek reaches a maximum altitude of about 5,364 meters (Everest Base Camp itself).

Difficulty: Considered moderately challenging, suitable for trekkers with a good level of fitness and some trekking experience. Altitude acclimatization is crucial.

 Trek  Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1300 meters

  • Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel.
  • Explore Thamel area, prepare for trekking.
  • Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Flight to Lukla, Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

  • Early morning flight to Lukla (2,840m), a thrilling adventure in itself.
  • Trek to Phakding, a scenic village along the Dudh Koshi River.
  • Overnight in Phakding.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

  • Trek through pine forests, crossing several suspension bridges.
  • Enter Sagarmatha National Park, ascend to Namche Bazaar.
  • Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

  • Acclimatization hike to Everest View Hotel for stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
  • Explore Namche Bazaar, visit Sherpa Museum and local markets.
  • Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860m)

  • Descend to the Dudh Koshi River, ascend through rhododendron forests.
  • Reach Tengboche, visit Tengboche Monastery with panoramic mountain views.
  • Overnight in Tengboche.

Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410m)

  • Descend through forests to cross the Imja Khola, then ascend to Pangboche.
  • Continue trekking to Dingboche, with views of Ama Dablam.
  • Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

  • Acclimatization hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,100m) for stunning views of the Himalayas.
  • Relax and explore Dingboche village.
  • Overnight in Dingboche.

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)

  • Trek along the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier, with views of peaks like Pumori.
  • Reach Lobuche, a small settlement with panoramic mountain views.
  • Overnight in Lobuche.

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164m) and Everest Base Camp (5,364m)

  • Trek to Gorak Shep, then continue to Everest Base Camp.
  • Explore Everest Base Camp, take in views of Khumbu Icefall and surrounding peaks.
  • Return to Gorak Shep for overnight stay.

Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m), Trek to Pheriche (4,371m)

  • Early morning hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise views of Everest and neighboring peaks.
  • Descend to Gorak Shep, then continue trekking to Pheriche.
  • Overnight in Pheriche.

Day 11: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar

  • Descend through Pangboche and Tengboche, cross suspension bridges.
  • Trek back to Namche Bazaar.
  • Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla

  • Descend steeply through forests to Phakding.
  • Trek back to Lukla.

Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu

  • Fly back to Kathmandu.
  • Free day in Kathmandu for shopping or exploring the city.
  • Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu

  • Depart Kathmandu for onward journey.
