Classic Everest trek
The Everest or solukhumbu region is the second-most popular trekking region in Nepal. It would probably be the most popular destination for the trekkers.Solukhumbu is popular not only for its proximity to the Everest ( ) but also for its inhabitants, sherpa village and monasteries. The nominal destination of an Everest is the Everest Basecamp at an elevation of 5340 meters from there a Kalapatter, a 5545 m bump on the southern flank of pumori (7145). From Kalapatter there is a dramatic view of Everest.

An Everest Trek involves a tremendous amount of up and down waling a glance at the map will show the reason why. All the rivers in this part of Nepal flow south From Himalayan glaciers, but the trek route proceeds east therefore the trail must climb to the ridge that separates two rivers, descend to the river itself, and ascend the next ridge. Even though the trek begins at an elevation of 1860m, it crosses the Dudh kosi at only 1500m- after considerable uphill and downhill walking.
